Good dim sum. I really love the authentic feel you have of Won Kow. The food is pretty good and inexpensive. I've never had a bad experience.

I've been coming to Won Kow for 30 years, starting as a little kid with my parents. Won Kow is the oldest Chinese restaurant in China Town and serves up family style Chines dining in a relaxed, if a bit dated dining room. The food is delicious! I love the shrimp with lobster sauce and Chicken with Peapods. The fried rice is also great. This isn't a trendy place, but it's reasonably priced and yummy. Bring a group--they have large tables!

Won Kow offers plenty of choices in larger potions for a fair price. They have seafood, vegetarian and meat option as well as spicy and mild. This is a solid choice for Chinatown and has a fair number of locals as well as tourists. I am always happy to bring my visitors here. Also, they validate parking at the Chinatown lot.

Not too long ago, my friends and I decided to explore the hidden neighborhoods of Chicago and our first stop was Chinatown. At the end of the tour, we would stop at a seemingly traditional restaurant. We scored choosing Won Kow. The service was great, the food amazing, and the decor made us feel like we had a Chinatown experience. Truly recommend it!

Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Chinatown!!! Hands down. Great food. Great drinks, and great service. I have been coming here for 30+ years. Ask the owner about his Al Capone stories. They will blow your mind.

This is the best Dim Sum place in Chinatown, Chicago. I tried the Hunan chicken. The price was very low and the quantity much more than I expected.

The best fried rice I've ever tried

This place is so good. We got a volcano drink which is really cool, lots of dim sum, spring rolls, low mein. It was all really good. You can tell the spring rolls are hand rolled in house. And even the fortune cookies tasted like they were home made. So so good.

Amazingly delicious fresh food ! The dim sum is a must !!

Won Kow is classic Chinatown. It's like you stepped into the movie Chinatown. The food is good but not trendy. The service is great. The cocktails are old school which I like. It's my favorite restaurant in Chinatown.

I used to go to this place like 15 yrs ago. Food was different, and better service. This time I went, I realized prices are higher than other places around. Not very clean and still service not that good. Have tried other places around for better service, taste and price.

The interior is very nicely done (one goes upstairs to get to the restaurant), and the wait staff are decently friendly. I ordered the Egg Foo Young with Egg Roll & Fried Rice, which as a lunch special ($4.95) came with Egg Drop Soup. My friends ordered the General Tso's Chicken. We all thought the food was delicious and filling. It's hard to go wrong with Won Kow. RJT

I've been eating here since I was a kid. Hands down best dim sum in Chicago. This restaurant holds a special place in my heart. Puts a smile on my face and leaves me with a haply stomach every time I visit.

I shall return! Hopefully sooner than later...love the Dim sum style. Also, efficient service!

We love the great food and family atmosphere. It's hard not to feel welcome and embraced. Tell them what you want and they will make it. David, the owner, can always come up with special dishes that aren't even on the menu.

Long-term Chinese restaurant located in Chinatown Chicago. Food is consistently good and of high-quality.

First time there, but went with family who have been many times. Food is incredible. Something for any taste. Even has an American menu. Prices are very reasonable for what you get and they serve liquor and beer if you want. Only 1 complaint, it's a 2nd floor and there are a lot of steps. Parking available on the street but you can park at the Public Parking 1 block away for $2 just have them validate your ticket. All said will definitely go here again.

The food here is so yummy! I get their BBQ pork fried rice spicy. They add jalapeños to it versus adding dried chili pepper. It doesn't make the rice as spicy as I would like but it is still very flavorful!

Pretty authentic for being in the middle of Chicago. And shopping is awesome

The Hunan Beef, shrimp with lobster sauce and Chinese fried chicken were delicious.

Food was delicious, drinks are cheap and the service was great!

Imagine a Chinese restaurant in the 60’s or 70’s serving up Americanized Chinese food. This is exactly what Wan Kow is from its decor to its bland food. It is a bad sign when you go into a Chinese restaurant and there are no people of Chinese decent eating there. There are many better places in China town that you can get better food, skip this place and go somewhere else. Staff was friendly and attentive and food was ok solid three stars.
Michael Centorcelli
Best food in Chinatown. Good service and large plates. Good for sharing.
Jarrek Hartsell
Came on a recommendation from some Chicagoans. Did not disappoint.

Good food and friendly. Bit slow when we were there and food took a bit to come out but overall delicious.
Daniel Czuba
Food is always amazing. It's my favorite place in China town.

Dim Sum is OK. Not a lot of customers so it's quick. No carts going from table to table, so the food is hot. Be prepared to climb the stairway to heaven.

I've been going to Won Kow for almost 10 years. It was AL Capone's China Town hang out!Although it may not be the #1 Chinese cuisine in China Town it is REALLY good. We always get the pepper chicken lo mein, orange peel beef, egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. So good! When we bring friends/family they are always happy with their dishes. They have really good priced drinks. $15 for a volcano that could serve 2-4. Individual mixed drinks for $6. They have a huge tv that plays all important sports games. We go here to watch the Bears/Cubs and some times to pregame for night Bears games or concerts at Northy Island.

What can I say that hasn't already been said. Tried and true staple of Chinatown. Great food at amazing prices. You can't go wrong!

It been there for a long time, I remember going there for a wedding, food is good, but it is on the second floor.

Been coming here for many years. Always good and nice sized proportions.
